We have a wide range of Childcare courses planned to run in different venues; at different times and on different days/evenings, across the city. Venues include the Adult Education College in Wellington Street. These courses include level 1, level 2 and level 3. We can also support learning by including help with English and Maths to National Test level and making available childcare grants to help remove financial barriers to learning.

Our courses include:

NCFE Level 1 National Award in Working with Children - For those who have not worked with children before.
NVQ 2 - Childcare Learning and Development – includes placement -volunteer or paid employment
NVQ 3 - For those who are employed in a childcare setting, or working as a volunteer in a level 3 capacity.

Classroom Assistant levels 1 & 2 - for anyone wishing to work within a school

Preparation for NVQ 2 in Childcare – includes literacy, numeracy, IT, preparation for a work placement, and training on assessment methods for NVQ’s

A1 Assessor award – For qualified Nursery Nurses wishing to become an NVQ assessor.
V1 Internal Verifier - This course is suitable for those wanting to train to be able to internally verify the NVQ assessment process.
